Peer Review Process
Al-Malwiya Journal of Sport and Movement Sciences (AMJSMS) employs a rigorous Double-Blind Peer Review process to ensure the quality, validity, and originality of published research.
Double-Blind Review
In the double-blind review process, the identities of both the authors and the reviewers are concealed throughout the review. Authors must remove all identifying information from the manuscript file before submission; author details are entered separately through the submission system.
Review Process
1. Initial Screening (1–5 days)
The editorial team assesses whether the manuscript falls within the journal's scope, meets formatting requirements, and passes the plagiarism screening check. Manuscripts that do not meet these criteria may be returned without peer review.
2. Reviewer Assignment
Manuscripts that pass screening are assigned to at least two independent reviewers with expertise in the relevant subject area.
3. Peer Review (3–5 weeks)
Reviewers evaluate the manuscript on originality, methodology, data analysis, interpretation, literature review, writing quality, and ethical standards.
4. Editorial Decision
Based on the reviewers' reports, the editor makes one of the following decisions:
| Accept | The manuscript is accepted for publication without further changes. |
| Minor Revision | Small corrections are needed. Authors are given 2 weeks to revise. |
| Major Revision | Substantial changes are required. Authors are given 4 weeks to revise. The manuscript may be re-reviewed. |
| Reject | The manuscript is not suitable for publication in the journal. |
5. Revision and Resubmission
When revisions are requested, authors must submit a revised manuscript through OJS along with a detailed response letter addressing each reviewer comment point by point.
Timeline
The review process typically takes 4–6 weeks from the date of submission.
