Guidelines for Authors

Authors submitting manuscripts to Al-Malwiya Journal of Sport and Movement Sciences (AMJSMS) must follow the guidelines below to ensure a smooth submission and review process.

1. General Requirements

  • Manuscripts must be written in English.
  • The manuscript should contain 5,000–8,000 words, including the abstract, main text, tables, figures, and references.
  • All manuscripts must be submitted electronically through the journal's online submission system.
  • Manuscripts must be original, not previously published, and not under consideration by another journal.

3. Manuscript Structure

The manuscript should contain the following sections in order:

  1. Title: Concise and informative, reflecting the content of the study.
  2. Abstract: Must not exceed 250 words and should include the purpose, methods, results, and conclusions of the study.
  3. Keywords: Provide 3–6 keywords that accurately represent the content of the manuscript.
  4. Introduction: Provide the background, context, and rationale for the study, including a clear statement of the research objectives or hypotheses.
  5. Materials and Methods: Describe the study design, participants, procedures, instruments, and statistical methods in sufficient detail to allow replication.
  6. Results: Present findings clearly and logically, supported by tables and figures where appropriate.
  7. Discussion: Interpret results in the context of existing literature, discuss limitations, and suggest implications for future research or practice.
  8. Conclusions: Provide a concise summary of the main findings and their significance.
  9. References: List all cited sources according to APA 7th edition style.

4. Double-Blind Review Requirement

Important: The manuscript file must not contain the names of the authors or any identifying information (such as affiliations, email addresses, or acknowledgements identifying the authors). Author information should be entered separately through the journal's online submission system to ensure a double-blind peer review process.

5. Additional Statements

Authors are required to include the following statements at the end of the manuscript:

Conflict of Interest Statement: Authors must disclose any financial, institutional, or personal relationships that could influence the research. If no conflict exists, the following statement should be included: "The authors declare that there is no conflict of interest."

Ethical Approval Statement: For studies involving human participants or animals, authors must indicate that the research was approved by the appropriate institutional ethics committee.

Data Availability Statement: Authors should specify the availability of the data supporting the results of the study. The data may be available upon reasonable request from the corresponding author.

Author Contributions Statement: Authors should clearly state the contribution of each author to the research and preparation of the manuscript.

Acknowledgements: Authors may acknowledge individuals, institutions, or organizations that supported the research.

Funding: Authors should disclose all sources of financial support for the research.

6. Tables and Figures

  • Tables and figures must be numbered consecutively (e.g., Table 1, Table 2; Figure 1, Figure 2).
  • Each table and figure must have a descriptive title or caption.
  • Tables should be created using the table function in Microsoft Word (not inserted as images).
  • All figures must be of high resolution (minimum 300 dpi) and clearly labeled.
  • Tables and figures should be placed within the manuscript at the appropriate location in the text.

7. References

The journal follows the APA 7th edition referencing style. All references cited in the text must appear in the reference list, and vice versa.

8. Ethical Considerations

All research involving human participants must have received approval from an appropriate institutional ethics committee or review board. The manuscript must include a statement confirming ethical approval and informed consent from participants. Research involving animals must comply with relevant national and institutional guidelines.

9. Submission Checklist

Before submitting, please ensure that:

  • The manuscript complies with all formatting and structural requirements.
  • No author-identifying information is included in the manuscript file.
  • All references follow APA 7th edition style.
  • Tables and figures are numbered and clearly labeled.
  • The abstract does not exceed 250 words and includes 3–6 keywords.
  • Ethical approval and informed consent are declared where applicable.
  • A Conflict of Interest Statement is included.
  • A Data Availability Statement is included.
  • An Author Contributions Statement is included.
  • All funding sources are disclosed.
  • The manuscript has been proofread for grammar, spelling, and clarity.
